Two Sandwiches Short of a Picnic

The weather finally became nice enough to be outside sans winter clothing so we decided we best take advantage of it. L suggested we have a picnic (and lord knows I love me a good  frolicking opportunity) so, we packed the P wagon with everything we needed for a big girl picnic and headed south. Spontaneous picnics can be fun but the ones that are planned out and prepped for are even better. They are especially fun when they include surprises.

Chalk one up for L...fun surprise and mad skills!
We traded hot dogs for cucumber sandwiches and pop for peach wine...it's how we roll.

Some days I feel like I have been robbing myself of country life opportunities.  But, today was not one of those days. We took country life by the horns and rode the heck out of it.
That didn't stop us, however, from adding a little bit o' city flair to the situation. Our picnic edibles were plated quite elegantly and there were no plastic cups or plates to be found. After all...this picnic had to be done up right.

Yummo

Despite our best efforts to keep everything fresh, our eggs got a little melty and our wine a little less bubbly by the time we were done making photographic evidence of it all. After all.... it's not everyday you have a rockin' picnic -riverside.

Today we had fun......

....and while I am sad that these spontaneously planned adventures are coming to an end, I am loving that I found a new friend that is only a couple of hours away and every bit as silly as I am.

'Tis only the beginning of a season of adventures!

~Yours Truly
